Apply for coaching.

Coaching starts with a conversation, not a contract. Tell me where you are, where you want to be, and I will tell you honestly what it takes and whether I am the right coach for it.

The fastest way to start

Right now, the direct line is the U FIT Fitness and Wellness Facebook page. Send a message with your goal and mention Coach JR:

Not a Facebook person? Drop into a session at U FIT in the Godfrey area and talk to me in person. The gym has always been a try-before-you-commit place, and a conversation costs nothing.

What to tell me

The more specific your first message, the more useful my answer:

  1. Your goal. Compete, recomposition, first muscle, athletic performance, or something else.
  2. Your starting point. Training history, honestly stated. There is no wrong answer here.
  3. Your constraints. Schedule, equipment, injuries, travel. The plan gets built around these, so I need them upfront.
  4. Your format. In person in the Riverbend area, or online.

What you will get back

An honest read. If your show timeline is too short, I will tell you. If your goal needs six months and you are hoping for six weeks, I will tell you that too. And if what you need is not something I coach, I will say so plainly instead of selling you something that fits me better than it fits you.

That is the whole application process. No forms pretending to be exclusive, no fake scarcity. Just a coach who answers.

Questions, answered

What happens after I reach out?

You get a reply from me, Lawrence, not an assistant or a funnel. We talk about your goal, your history, and your schedule. If we are a fit, we pick the right coaching option and start. If we are not, I will say so and point you somewhere better.

What should I include in my first message?

Your goal, your training history in a sentence or two, your rough schedule, and whether you want in-person or online coaching. If you are a competitor: your division, your last show and placing if any, and the show you are eyeing.

Do I need to be in shape to start?

No. Read that again if you need to. Beginners are welcome here, and always have been.

Where does in-person coaching happen?

In the Alton and Godfrey, Illinois area at U FIT Fitness and Wellness. Everything else, including full contest prep, is available online anywhere.
